Introducing the MOBOTIX Thermographic Camera

MOBOTIX just introduced a new thermographic camera enabling Integrators to tackle very interesting new application fields at an almost revolutionary comparable price point for this technology.

The true excitement is for regular business customers now having access to technology that was reserved for Military and Law Enforcement and toped off with all the known MOBOTIX conveniences. Weatherproof, PoE powered, green low power and modular design that makes it easy to pair Thermographic image with Color or BW Sensor for better visual intelligence.

The new M15D system platform ensures maximum flexibility for the MOBOTIX thermographic camera. The M15D-Thermal comes with a thermal image sensor and a dummy module (to remain weatherproof to IP 66) or use any MOBOTIX sensor modules (5 MP, color or black and white, telephoto to Hemispheric, with or without long-pass filter/LPF) in the M15D-Thermal for identification. Camera software is then used to activate the dual image display on one of the two image sensors (thermal or standard) or both simultaneously.

XQAND Baku NAS - Storage Unit for Retail / Multi-location Applications

XQAND Baku NASXQAND a manufacturer of Specialized Storage for MOBOTIX Surveillance Solutions has just released a new micro storage unit for situations where SIM cards alone are not enough but other storage is overkill. The unit offers the full power of XQAND including all the special features ZQAND is famous for like its cloud monitoring.

This new unit has an extremely small form factor. The Baku series measures in at 2.7" x 7.7" x 7.7” and will fit virtually anywhere. Designed for small MOBOTIX systems with up to 5 cameras and available in two models: 1 TB SATA HD good for 5+ cameras or the Baku Solid housing a 512 GB Solid State Drive. They also feature all the standard XQAND MOBOTIX add-ons such as auto configuration of cameras, call home monitor alerting you of any issues with the unit or the cameras, load monitor so you can easily see how many cameras your system can support, MXRemotePreview for low bandwidth review from remote connections and FTP server in case time lapse images are needed. PoE Extender and 2-Port Mini PoE Switch

Surveillance equipment installers are many times challenged to provide network connectivity with PoE in ubiquitous places. ABPTech portfolio include a wide array of solutions to overcome those challenges. Let us help you find the best solution for specific cases that could include Fiber Optics, Ethernet extenders or Wireless links. This month we announce a unique device for those that need a couple PoE ports in the remote end that can help save AC and UTP wiring. The ONV PoE Ethernet repeater/extender and mini PoE switch is powered by PoE and delivers two Ethernet/PoE ports. (Available in 802.11 AT and AF versions)

IR Modules from Elenek for Use with MOBOTIX

Elenek, a German company specializing in IR Illumination has come up with some interesting IR products for use with MOBOTIX cameras. We all know that without illumination when it starts to get dark cameras start to get blurry and begin using progressively more bandwidth and storage. This is why illumination is important, to not only be able to see in darkness but to also reduce bandwidth, storage and false alarms.

The first of the Elenek product family I would like to discuss is the IR52S specially designed to hold an S15 sensor module in the middle of it. These are designed to be aesthetically pleasing allowing for an S15 sensor and IR illumination in one covenant package. The design of the IR beam is such that 70% of the light distribution is to the sides so that objects under the illuminator are not overexposed. They are available in both 850 and 940 nm. The second is the IR21 and IR22 models at 30 and 80 degrees respectively. They offer special brackets that allow them to bolt to the underside of either the M25 or M15 again making for a convenient, aesthetically pleasing clean package.

On the left a traditional 180 degree illuminator was used and on the right an IR52. Overall illumination is much better and there is no overexposure in the middle.

MICROSENS MicroSwitch - Ruggedized Media Converter and Managed PoE Switch for Fiber Deployment in Industrial and Security Applications

MICROSENS MicroswitchesMore and more IP surveillance projects are being won that require covering large distances where fiber optics is the best way to go. MICROSENS Microswitches combine a ruggedized media converter and managed micro PoE switch all-in-one in a small enclosure with no moving parts and a high MTBF.

MICROSENS is a European leader for fiber and Industrial Ethernet deployments in mission critical areas and often used for MOBOTIX installations. MICROSENS has been Europe's preferred manufacturer for Media Converters, Fiber to PoE microswitches and more. MICROSENS offers Mining, Power Plant and Railway certifications. MICROSENS equipment has no moving parts for cooling and has a well documented very high MTBF. ABP has MICROSENS solutions for all three topologies - Point-to-Point Fiber, redundant Fiber Ring and PON Passive Optical Network for FTTO solutions that can truly reduce your connectivity costs while creating a very flexible and robust infrastructure for large camera deployments. Call ABP to discuss any installation projects that require fiber we will provide training and field support when needed.

Stay tuned for much more on Fiber Solutions for IP Camera deployments.
