Registering your SIP Express with a SIP Proxy.

 

Assumptions:
You have been through the quick start guide and can browse to the SIP Express

  1. Stop the SIP Express from Downloading its settings from Azatel.
    Browse to the Provision page and replace provis.azatel.com with "0".
    Hit the OK button to Save.


  2. Datafill the USER Parameters:
    Browse to VOIP | User and fill in:
    • Make sure the Checkbox is "Checked" for the User0
    • Fill in the Username with the Phone number for User0
    • If needed, put the required password for User0
    • The Display Name is optional
    • Hit the OK button to Save

  3. Change the SIP Parameters:
    Browse to VOIP | SIP and fill in:
    • Fill in the Proxy Address
    • Fill in the Registrar Address
    • The Outbound Proxy address is only needed if you are using something like NATpass for NAT Traversal.
    • Fill in the SIP domain.
    • Hit the OK button to Save

  4. Change the STUN Parameters:
    Browse to VOIP | STUN and fill in:
    • If you are using STUN:
      • Make the "NAT Address" = 0 as this will be updated by STUN
      • Fill in the STUN address with your STUN server.
      • Leave the rest of the fields like they are unless you know they need to be different.
      • Hit the OK button to Save
    • If you are on a Public IP or using NATPass:
      • Make the "NAT Address" = 0 as this will be updated by STUN
      • Make the STUN Server = 0 to turn off STUN.
      • Leave the rest of the fields like they are.
      • Hit the OK button to Save
    IMPORTANT:If you put 0 in the STUN EXPIRES, the web browser will quit working and you'll have to telnet to the unit and change it back manually.


  5. Save the Configuration to Flash:
    Hit "Save Configuration" then "Save" again, then "Reboot".


  6. Things to remember:
    You always have to SAVE and REBOOT for changes to take affect.
    Default Password can be one of four:
    • sipexpress
    • ambit
    • azatel
    • wre4wecr

  7. You can telnet to the SIP Express and manually set parameters.
    After you login, hit the "?" and it will give you a help screen.
    The debug section is very helpful.
    It is possible to get the SIP Express in an unusable state.
    Be Careful that you know what you are changing!
