Getting into your SIP Express.

Assumptions:
  - You have tried the quick start guide but still can't get in.
  - This is basically a simplified version of that document with
    a few additions.
  - You have also verified the cable.

Procedure:
  1. Unplug everything from the unit.
  2. Plug only your PC into the ENET port.
    Leave the WAN port empty.
  3. Set your PC as follows:
      IP:172.25.25.5
      NETMASK:255.255.255.0
      Default Gateway:172.25.25.1
      or
      IP:169.254.254.250
      NETMASK:255.255.255.0
      Default Gateway:169.254.254.254
      or
      IP:10.20.35.20
      NETMASK:255.255.255.0
      Default Gateway:10.20.35.17

      or
      IP:192.168.100.100
      NETMASK:255.255.255.0
      Default Gateway:192.168.100.1

  4. Power up the unit and wait 1 minute.
  5. Try to ping the default gateway from above .
  6. If your pings work, stop and browse.
  7. Dial *#26845# from a phone attached to Phone1.
Dial this even if you don't have dial-tone.
On newer firmware, this resets the unit to factory defaults.
Does the unit do anything? I think it should click and maybe reboot.
  8. Ping the default gateway
  9. Browse to the default gateway
  10. If this doesn't work, change the Default Gateway on your PC to nothing.

  11. Last resort is to download ETHEREAL and capture the packets that the unit sends out and try to browse to any IPs you see in the trace.
