Upgrading Firmware on an Audiocodes Gateway:

 

 

  1. Following pertains to 4.0. Newer firmware contains a "Software Upgrade Wizard" which guides you through the process.

  2. Obtain the firmware from the company you bought the product.

  3. Extract the files and make note of the locations of the following files:

  4. Backup Existing Config - Save your current INI file.
     If your unit is default, don't worry about this.

  5. Upload the new Firmware:
     Note: If you are on existing 4.0 firmware, this screen will be in a different place.
    Browse to the "Software Update" then "Software File-Download" page.
    • Hit the "Browse" button and pick your version of firmware.
    • After you've verified the right version:  Hit the "Send File" button.
    • The Gateway will reboot.

  6. Upload an INI File:
    Browse back to "Software Update" then this time go to the "Auxiliary Files Download" page. 
    Send either your INI file you saved from before or the default INI file provided on the download.
    The Gateway will reboot.

  7. Upload the Coefficients File:
    Browse back to the "Software Update" then "Auxilary Files Download" page.
    Send "Coefficient File" for your Model and Version (SIP/H323/MGCP) of Gateway.
    Unit will NOT reboot.

  8. Upload the "Call Progress Tones":
    Pick your Model and Version as above.
    Unit will NOT reboot.

  9. Save the Configuration to Flash:
    Hit the "Save Configuration" button then "Save Configuration" again.

  10. Program the Gateway with your Parameters.

  11. Backup Gateway to a Local File:
    Browse to the "Advanced Configuration" then "Configuration File" page.
    Hit the "Get INI FILE" button and save to a safe place.
    If you ever have to reload the Gateway, you can do it again here.
