FAQs
1. Is this another VoIP show?
No! this unique event focuses on the practical “how
to actually be successful in reselling VoIP solutions”.
It brings together reseller executives and top technical team members so that they can learn
from one another’s successes and stumbles; as well
as industry experts who will shed light on ALL of the opportunities
in the VoIP space (not just the PBX area where so many resellers
are already engaged).
2. Who would get the most benefit from attending
this event?
The information, roundtables, workshops etc. follow three
parallel tracks – one for the owners or executives of the reseller
business and the second for the “technical buyer” (the person
who makes the recommendations/decisions on which products your company will
sell) and a third focusing on training. To get maximum benefit from the event, it would be great if two people
from your company could attend.
3. My time is valuable and my budget is tight.
Is this event really worth it?
By now, it’s clear that VoIP and “convergence” is
here to stay. For those who don’t want to wait to be a “me too” with
a host of competitors, this event focuses on the steps and opportunities for
transitioning from a traditional Data or Networking VAR or Telecom Dealer to a Converged
model, where margins are high and opportunities are plentiful. Many
companies have had a difficult time making the transition because they had
no steps to follow so they each went through trial and error. This is a great
opportunity to learn from your peers – and not “re-invent the
wheel”.
4. Is this event just about VoIP technology?
No! As a reseller business, one of the most difficult challenges,
whether you move primarily to VoIP or not, your
business model will change and you need to know how things fit together.
There are areas within a reseller business where potential
revenue has gone untapped or undiscovered and where opportunities
have not been created. This event gives resellers the chance
to benefit from the experience and success of their peers – in
areas from sales to marketing to product selection strategies.
5. How important is VoIP really?
SIP will go into history as the protocol that changed the
world of telephony the way TCP/IP changed the world of
networking. In a few short years telephony will more and
more often be implemented with data networking, and that
trend is here to stay. Even as a data or networking VAR
you can not afford to ignore voice, voice applications,
and its many integration opportunities. As a telecom VAR
the future is in VoIP.
6. I’m not familiar with many of the vendors who
will be in attendance
It’s not very difficult to find VoIP manufacturers
to talk to in today’s environment… But at least 60% of customers today (according
to a quick poll), aren’t ready yet to throw out their
existing phone system for a VoIP PBX. The vendors that will
be attending this event were chosen because, in most cases,
they offer products that are well suited to generate business
today connecting to the current equipment and then grow into
a IP based future - enabling you to grab revenue and position
your business as “a company in the know in the IP arena” without
being limited to selling only a new VoIP PBX, a solution
that most customers are not ready to purchase yet. The vendors at this event are the ones that have the best products in their field and that have proven interoperability in the marketplace.
7. What do I have to invest?
We designed the event to make it the most cost effective possible. You can fly into Dallas on Wednesday evening. So you can work Monday through Wednesday noon. The Wednesday evening reception is optional but is a great way to break the ice and actually meet your peers, the sponsors and the people that designed the SIP standard.
The Core event is all day Thursday including an off-site Dinner and ends Friday right before noon. The Hotel is conveniently located next to DFW airport and features a shuttle to the Airport. ABP has arranged for a special rate with the Hotel. If the block of rooms reserved gets sold out there are several other brand name budget hotels within walking distance.
The cost for the event including all meals, materials and all tracks and training programs is only $149 for ABP VARS
